Organizational Profile

Friends of the Rail Trail is part of the Haliburton County Community Cooperative which has this lofty mission:

"Encourage, develop and support entrepreneurial initiatives that contribute to the social, cultural, environmental and economic well-being of Haliburton County and its residents."

The Cooperative is a non-profit incorporated entity managed by a Board. FoRT has a liaison member that sits on the Board of the Cooperative. Although part of the Co-Op, FoRT is managed by an autonomous executive committee and supported by the generous volunteer efforts of its members. Organizational capacity is enhanced by partnering with a wide variety of community organizations. 

FoRT's AGM is the first Sunday in June, and the Membership year runs from May 1.
