Ontario
FoRT has an ambitious long-range plan to create a "one-stop shop" for Ontario's 100 or so rail trails. Interested in this? We believe there's a desire for this. Anecdotally, we've heard for example, "We had a wonderful day on the Old Railway Bike Trail in Algonquin Park, but couldn't find anything to follow it up".
Pamela Marsales, FoRT's founder and executive chair, has been compiling info on all types of rail trails from all over the province. Photos, histories, first-hand experiences, trail-building news... these are all welcomed.
What Ontario rail trails have you visited, or maybe lived near? Which ones would you like to explore? Would you like to contribute to a project to gather together all the available data on Ontario's rails-to-trails conversion?
We'd love to hear from you.
