Sponsorships

Friends of the Rail Trail was fortunate to take part in a community-wide cultural sponsorship program in the municipality of Dysart et al in 2010/11. artsVest is a matching incentive and sponsorship training program designed to stimulate business investment in arts and culture, bolster municipal cultural plans and help develop the creative economy.  artsVest operates in select communities across Ontario and will be expanding nationally in 2011.

FoRT found in-kind and financial sponsorships in the Dysart business community which were matched by Business for the Arts. FoRT is considered a cultural entity by virtue of its production of heritage material such as "The Two Short Films on the Railway Days in Haliburton".

FoRT's artsVest funds will go toward the development of a cultural map of the rail trails of Haliburton Highlands.
